Your statutory rights, our 60-day goodwill window, and exactly how returns work on made-to-order sabers and swords.
Last updated: 11 July 2026 · Replica Sabers, Caistor, Lincolnshire
The short version. You have a statutory 14-day right to cancel any order and receive a full refund. If an item is faulty, you have 30 days to reject it for a full refund. On top of that, we offer a 60-day goodwill return window on unused, unopened items.
Nothing in this policy removes or limits your legal rights under UK consumer law.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason, without giving a reason.
The Regulations allow us to reduce your refund if the value of the goods has been diminished by handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function — in other words, handling beyond what you would reasonably do in a shop. Igniting a saber to check it works is fine. Duelling with it, or damaging the hilt or blade, is not.
Production fee. Our sabers and swords are assembled to order. If you cancel after we have begun building your item, we may deduct a 20% production fee from your refund. This reflects genuine, unrecoverable costs: component allocation, blade and core commitment, and build scheduling. This deduction does not apply to items returned unopened and unused within the 14-day cancellation window.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If yours are not, you have the following remedies:
| When | Your right |
|---|---|
| Within 30 days of delivery | Short-term right to reject. You may reject the item and receive a full refund. We cover return postage. |
| 30 days – 6 months | We will repair or replace the item. If that fails or is not possible, you are entitled to a refund, which may be reduced to reflect use. |
| 6 months – 12 months | Covered by our 12-month warranty for manufacturing and electronic faults. Repair or replacement, handled in our Caistor workshop. |
If your item arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, contact us as soon as you can with clear photographs and a short description. The sooner you tell us, the faster we can put it right — but your 30-day right to reject is not affected by how quickly you report it.
Beyond your statutory rights, we voluntarily accept returns for 60 days from delivery on items that are unused and in their original, unopened packaging.
This goodwill window is in addition to, and does not replace, your legal rights above.
Selecting from the options we offer on a product page — blade type, blade length, sound board — is not a bespoke commission. Those orders carry full cancellation rights.
If you instruct the courier to leave your parcel in a safe place, with a neighbour, or at a locker, that is done at your own risk. Once the courier confirms delivery to the location you specified, responsibility passes to you.
We will always help you raise a claim with the courier, and if a parcel is formally confirmed as lost we will arrange a replacement. Investigations can take 2–3 weeks.
If tracking shows “delivered” but nothing has arrived, tell us within 48 hours so we can open a courier investigation while the evidence is still available.
Outer packaging occasionally arrives scuffed or dented in transit. This does not affect the item inside. If you would like replacement packaging for display or gifting, just ask and we will send some.
You may cancel free of charge at any point before we begin building your order. Once production has started, the 20% production fee described in section 1 applies. Your 14-day statutory cancellation right, and the deduction rules that go with it, continue to apply once the goods are delivered.
If something is wrong with your order, please contact us first. We are a small UK workshop and we will almost always resolve it faster than a bank can.
Raising a chargeback without contacting us may delay resolution and can cause your order to be paused while the dispute is reviewed. In the event of a chargeback we will provide the issuing bank with the relevant documentation: order confirmation, agreed terms, our correspondence with you, and proof of dispatch and delivery.
Where there is clear evidence of misuse of the chargeback process — for example disputing a valid, delivered transaction without first raising the issue with us — we reserve the right to decline future orders and to share transaction details with payment processors and fraud prevention services, in line with applicable data protection law.
