An RGB lightsaber lights the blade from a single LED in the hilt. Because there are no electronics inside the blade, it is the most impact-resistant board we fit — the right choice for heavy duelling and for a first saber. 16 sound fonts, smooth swing, flash on clash, and colour change from the hilt.

What is an RGB Lightsaber?

An RGB saber uses a single high-power LED mounted in the hilt, which throws light up a hollow polycarbonate blade. It is the original saber technology, and it is still the right choice for a great many people.

Why RGB is the toughest option

There are no electronics inside the blade. Nothing to crack, nothing to desolder, nothing to fail on a hard clash. That is what makes RGB the most impact-resistant board we fit, and why duelling clubs keep coming back to it.

What you get

16 sound fonts, smooth-swing motion, flash on clash, blaster deflect and infinite colour change from the hilt. RGB V2 adds Bluetooth and app control. Our buyer's guide compares the boards in full.

RGB or Neopixel?

Choose RGB for heavy duelling, a first saber, or a saber that will be handled hard. Choose Neopixel for maximum brightness and film-accurate rising ignition. Both are duel-ready; they simply prioritise different things.

Answers

RGB Lightsaber FAQs

What is the difference between RGB and Neopixel?
RGB puts a single LED in the hilt and lights the blade from below. Neopixel runs a strip of LEDs the length of the blade. Neopixel is brighter with a true rising ignition; RGB is tougher on impact, because there are no electronics in the blade to damage.
Are RGB lightsabers good for duelling?
Yes — they are the best choice for it. With no LED strip inside the blade, there is nothing to break on a heavy clash. That is why RGB is what we recommend for full-contact duelling.
Can I change the blade colour on an RGB saber?
Yes. Colour is changed from the hilt button, and the board supports infinite colour change and twist colour change. You are not locked to one colour.
How many sound fonts do RGB sabers have?
16 as standard. RGB V2 boards add Bluetooth and app control on top.
