Lightsaber Maintenance: Care for Your Saber
Keep your Neopixel or RGB lightsaber in peak condition — hilt, blade, LEDs, soundboard and battery care from our UK workshop.
Your lightsaber is a premium display and performance product built for cosplay, sparring and collecting. This lightsaber maintenance guide covers each component so it stays in excellent condition for years.
The essentials: keep the hilt clean and dry, wipe the blade with a soft cloth and avoid hard-surface strikes, charge only at 5V 1A and disconnect when full, and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Caring for Each Component
Hilt
Houses the soundboard, battery, controls and chassis.
- Keep the hilt clean and dry
- Avoid moisture or humidity
- Keep dust and debris out of openings
- Check and tighten screws and fittings periodically
Blade
Durable polycarbonate with integrated LED strips on Neopixel models.
- Wipe regularly with a soft cloth
- Avoid impacts with hard surfaces
- Inspect for cracks or stress marks
- Ensure it's fully dry before reinstalling
LEDs
Provide the blade's illumination and dynamic effects.
- Avoid shock or heavy impact
- Handle removable blades carefully
- Keep connections clean
Soundboard
Controls sound, motion response and ignition styles.
- Keep moisture away from electronics
- Avoid impacts to the hilt
- Follow correct charging guidance
Battery
Rechargeable 18650 cell powering light and sound.

How to Clean Your Saber
Hilt cleaning
Wipe the exterior with a soft dry cloth. For tougher marks use a slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners. For a deeper clean, a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol lifts finger oils from the metal.
Blade cleaning
Remove the blade if applicable, wipe with a microfibre cloth, and make sure it's fully dry before reinstalling.
Protect the Blade & Electronics
Polycarbonate blades are tough, but avoid striking concrete, metal or walls, inspect regularly for cracks, and store away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. If damage is visible, replace the blade before continued use. For the electronics, allow the saber to cool after long sessions and follow firmware instructions where supported.
