RGB vs Xenopixel / Neopixel

RGB (baselit) sabers light the blade from a single LED in the hilt, offering a wide range of colours and solid effects at the best value, and the most impact-resistant build for duelling. Xenopixel and Neopixel sabers use a strip of individually-lit LEDs inside the blade for ultra-bright, uniform illumination and advanced effects. See our electronics guide and buyer’s guide.

The Story of the Darth Maul Lightsaber – Clone Wars Double Staff

Maul should have died on Naboo. Instead, he returned in The Clone Wars — broken, remade, and armed with a new saberstaff to replace the one Obi-Wan cut in half. This is that weapon: the double-bladed staff of his second life, carried through his conquest of Mandalore and his war against everyone — Jedi, Sith and Death Watch alike. This replica recreates the Clone Wars staff in full, machined from 6063 aircraft-grade aluminium, with both blades igniting from a single commanding hilt.

Famous Battles & Moments

The Duel for Mandalore

Maul faces Pre Vizsla, leader of Death Watch, in single combat for the throne of Mandalore — saberstaff against darksaber. His victory hands him a crown and the black blade, but this staff is the weapon that wins it.

Sidious Returns

When Darth Sidious himself comes to Mandalore, Maul and Savage fight the Sith Master side by side. The staff’s twin blades let Maul hold his ground longer than almost any duelist could — though even that is not enough.

The Siege of Mandalore

In the final days of the Clone Wars, Maul duels Ahsoka Tano through the throne room and rafters of Sundari. Staff against twin blades, it is one of the great duels of the era — and this is the weapon he carries into it.

History of the Saber

Maul’s original saberstaff was destroyed on Naboo along with half of everything else he was. Rebuilt with his mind and body, he forged a new double-bladed staff during The Clone Wars — the weapon of a warlord rather than an apprentice. It served him through Mandalore, the Shadow Collective and the war’s final siege.

Combat Style

Maul fights in the aggressive Juyo tradition, and the saberstaff multiplies that aggression — constant rotation, attacks from both ends, and momentum that never stops building. Most builds of this replica split into two sabers, letting you fight staff or dual-wield exactly as Maul does on screen.

Why Collectors Want It

The Clone Wars era transformed Maul from a silent assassin into one of the saga’s richest villains, and this staff is the weapon of that transformation. As a display piece it commands a wall; in hand it is pure presence. Machined from 6063 aluminium with heavy-duty polycarbonate blades, it is ready to duel out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same staff Maul used in The Phantom Menace?
No — this is the rebuilt saberstaff of his return in The Clone Wars, forged after his original was destroyed on Naboo. It’s the weapon of his Mandalore era.
Can this saberstaff split into two sabers?
Most builds of this staff separate into two independent sabers, letting you switch between staff and dual-wield fighting styles. Check the product options for your chosen configuration.
What colour are the blades?
Both blades burn Sith red, matching Maul’s weapon on screen. Most boards also let you change colour on demand.
Is this good for dueling?
Yes. The hilt is machined from 6063 aluminium with heavy-duty polycarbonate blades built for real contact. For heavy duelling, the RGB board is the most impact-resistant option.
How long is the full staff?
With both blades fitted, the assembled staff runs well over two metres depending on your blade length choice — a genuine full-size saberstaff.
