RGB vs Xenopixel / Neopixel

RGB (baselit) sabers light the blade from a single LED in the hilt, offering a wide range of colours and solid effects at the best value, and the most impact-resistant build for duelling. Xenopixel and Neopixel sabers use a strip of individually-lit LEDs inside the blade for ultra-bright, uniform illumination and advanced effects. See our electronics guide and buyer’s guide.

The Story of the Obi-Wan Kenobi EP4 Lightsaber

Obi-Wan’s Episode IV saber is the endpoint of forty years of refinement — the slim-necked hilt with its distinctive balance pipe and windvane, drawn from beneath desert robes when the galaxy needed Ben Kenobi one last time. This replica recreates that final design in machined 6063 aircraft-grade aluminium.

Famous Battles & Moments

The Cantina

Two ignitions, one severed arm, and a room that goes back to its drinks — Mos Eisley learns why you don’t threaten the old man’s friends.

The Circle Complete

Aboard the Death Star, Obi-Wan meets Vader for their final duel — and chooses sacrifice, raising this hilt as he lets the blade fall. The saga’s first duel on screen, and its most selfless.

The Hermit’s Blade

Through nineteen years of exile watching over Luke, this saber waited under Ben’s robes — the last lightsaber the galaxy would see until a new hope picked one up.

History of the Saber

This is Obi-Wan’s fourth and final hilt — the mature refinement of a lineage that began with his Padawan blade on Naboo. Its thin neck and balance pipe made it one of the most distinctive props of the original film. Read more about the character in the official Star Wars Databank.

Combat Style

Old Ben fights pure Soresu — total economy, perfect defence, and the patience of a master with nothing to prove. The slim, perfectly balanced hilt suits exactly that measured style.

Why Collectors Want It

The EP IV hilt is where the whole Kenobi lineage leads, and its thin-neck silhouette is one of the most recognisable in prop collecting. It completes any Obi-Wan set — or starts one at the top. Machined from 6063 aluminium, duel-ready out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the saber from the Death Star duel?
Yes — this is Obi-Wan’s A New Hope hilt, the blade he raises in his final duel with Vader.
How does it differ from the EP1 and EP3 hilts?
This is the final refinement — slimmer neck, the famous balance pipe and windvane. The EP1 is his Padawan blade and the EP3 his Jedi Master chrome hilt; collectors often build the full lineage.
Can I change the blade colour?
It ships with a Jedi blue blade as standard, and most boards let you change colour on demand.
Is this good for dueling?
Yes. The hilt is machined from 6063 aluminium with a heavy-duty polycarbonate blade built for real contact. For heavy duelling, the RGB board is the most impact-resistant option.
Does it come ready to use?
Yes. Every saber ships fully assembled and tested, with blade, USB-C charger and tools included.
