Sith lightsabers are red because the kyber crystal is bled. A Sith forces the crystal to submit through the dark side, and it turns. Every saber on this page carries a red blade. We build sixteen of them across ten characters, all duel-ready and assembled in the UK.

The Dark Side

A Sith blade is red because it is bled — the kyber crystal is forced to submit, and it turns. That is the lore, and it is a rather good metaphor for the whole philosophy.

Why they are all red

Every saber on this page carries a red blade, because that is what a bled crystal produces. It is the one visual rule the dark side never breaks, and it is why a red blade reads as a threat before anyone says a word.

The hilts we build

Sixteen sabers across ten characters: Vader's three, Maul's three saberstaffs, Dooku's curved duelling hilts, Palpatine's gold, Revan and Malgus from the Old Republic, Kylo's cracked crossguard, and Starkiller's raw industrial build.

Which to choose

Vader if you want the saber everyone knows. Maul if you want a staff. Dooku if you actually duel — that curved hilt is built for it. Every one is machined from aircraft-grade aluminium and assembled in the UK.

Sith Lightsaber FAQs

Why are Sith lightsabers red?
Because the kyber crystal is bled. A Sith forces the crystal to submit through the dark side, and it turns red in the process. It is the one rule the dark side never breaks — every Sith blade is red.
Which Sith lightsaber is the most popular?
Darth Vader's, by a wide margin. We build three versions of it. Darth Maul's double-bladed saberstaff is the next most requested.
Is Kylo Ren a Sith?
Not formally — he leads the Knights of Ren, and the Sith are extinct by his era. But his crossguard saber carries a bled kyber crystal and a red blade, so he sits here.
Are Sith lightsabers duel-ready?
Yes. Every saber uses a thick-walled polycarbonate blade and a reinforced chassis. For a saberstaff or heavy contact, an RGB board is the more impact-resistant choice.
